Road Safety Awareness Drive Held at KITS Warangal Campus

Warangal, January 29 – The NSS Club of the Student Activity Center (SAC) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), organized a Road Safety Awareness Drive to promote safe driving practices and traffic awareness. The event was held at the Auditorium NLR Shed on campus in association with Adarsha Driving School and the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Hanamkonda.



The drive was inaugurated by Deputy Transport Commissioner Dr. Puppalala Srinivasa Rao, who served as the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Rao emphasized the need for strict adherence to road safety rules to reduce accidents, particularly among students and young drivers. He highlighted the importance of responsible road behavior and urged participants to be vigilant while driving.

The event featured interactive sessions, including a workshop on first aid for road accident victims and a skit performed by NSS volunteers to raise awareness about road safety. Concluding his speech, Dr. Rao urged everyone to follow traffic rules, stating, "Be a Road Safety Hero."



KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy appreciated the NSS Club SAC for organizing the initiative, calling it a valuable effort in fostering civic responsibility among students.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including Seetha Reddy, Traffic Police CI, Hanamkonda, Sravya, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector; KITSW Dean of Student Affairs Prof. M. Srilatha; Student Affairs Associate Dean M. Narsimha Rao; KITSW NSS Coordinator Dr. Ch. Sateesh Chandra; Associate Professor of Chemistry and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary.

Led by Gujjunuri Manohar, the Student Head of NSS KITSW, the event saw the participation of 100 NSS and NCC volunteers, along with over 400 students. The program aimed to instill a sense of responsibility in students and encourage safe road practices.
