Grand Celebrations of 36th Annual Sports Day held at Play Fields, KITS WARANGAL Campus

The department of Physical Education (PE) grandly celebrated Thirty Sixth (36) Annual Sports Day-2025 at play fields, Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW) said by the Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy. 

It was inaugurated by the chief guest, International Badminton Player, J.B.S. Vidyadhar,  by lighting the lamp in association with the Honourable Rajya sabha former Member, KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, KITSW Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, Governing body members, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy and others
On this occasion the chief guest, highlighted that the sports have been an integral part of human culture and history, dating back to ancient civilisation. Sports open-up your quality of education and it helps many academics as they are talented over, improve inherent talent, etc.  

He asserted  that nothing is impossible if you have a strong desire and passion with the hard work and dedication.

According to the KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, Sporting events are not just for physical strength, it develops skills through creative thinking, problem solving abilities.  It is adding a lot of value to the student community with regards to technical education.  In the KITSW, the environment where students equally balance the sports and academics. It integrates academics and physical fitness, charging your energy, embedment of character.  

On this occasion  Rajya sabha former Member and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao gave the presidential remarks. Sports play a key role in the present education system and especially for youth, providing physical and mental benefits to individuals and impacting society as a whole. It will improve physical fitness to foster teamwork and discipline for leading a successful life. Sports is directly linked to becoming a good engineer for the benefit of the society.  He concluded that students should maintain  emotional balance, spiritual attitude,  behavior and good conduct. 

On this occasion, Administrative Officer, Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy said that  there were more than 40 sports and games conducted during the academic year 2024-2025. A total of 12 trophies and 400 above medals awarded to the winners among the student community.

According to the Head department of physical education, Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy every academic year intramural competitions are conducted for B. Tech., M. Tech. and MBA students. Prize distribution in the games such as basketball, Valley-ball, football, handball, boxing and kabaddi for winners and runners.  The Gold, silver and bronze medals for athletics were also awarded for the winners.  

In this program KITSW Treasurer  P. Narayana Reddy, Management member, E. Ramreddy, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, Administrative Officer, Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, Head department of physical education Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy, Associate professor of chemistry & PRO, Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, sports club general secretary,  student coordinator, faculty of PED: K. Venkataswamy, S. Mahesh, R. Nagaraju, all the deans, all the HoDs, faculty, staff, 500 above students and their parents were present.
