All arrangements have been completed for the world-famous Medaram Sri Sammakka–Saralamma Maha Jatara, scheduled to be held from January 28 for four days. Lakhs of devotees from across the state and the country are expected to attend the festival, which is considered one of the largest tribal congregations in the world.


Highlighting the importance of media coverage in taking the glory of the Medaram Jatara to a global audience, Panchayat Raj and Women & Child Welfare Minister Sitakka on Tuesday inaugurated the Media Centre set up at Medaram. The Media Centre has been established at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam near the Gaddelu area.
Officials informed the Minister that all necessary facilities have been provided at the Media Centre to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information to print, electronic, and digital media. Special arrangements have been made to coordinate state-level and national-level journalists who are arriving for Jatara coverage, enabling fast and continuous updates from a single point.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sitakka said that the successful completion of arrangements in a short time was possible due to the blessings of the Goddess. She noted that a large number of devotees have already started arriving at Medaram ahead of the Maha Jatara. The Minister appreciated the efforts of officials who worked day and night for the smooth conduct of the festival and requested devotees to cooperate if any minor shortcomings are noticed.
She prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness for all devotees through the blessings of Sammakka and Saralamma.
The programme was attended by District Collector T.S. Divakar, Information and Public Relations Department officials Deputy Director V. Venkateshwarlu, K. Venkata Suresh,AD Lakshman Kumar, Agricultural Market Committee Chairperson Rega Kalyani, media representatives, and other officials.
