Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy described the state budget as a “futuristic” one, emphasizing that it strikes a balance between development and welfare while laying a strong foundation for long-term economic growth.
Speaking informally in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said the budget prioritizes both infrastructure development and social welfare. Adequate allocations have been made to strengthen core infrastructure, keeping in mind the state’s future economic expansion.
He noted that the budget aligns with the government’s ambitious “Telangana Rising Vision,” ensuring that all sectors and sections of society receive due financial support.
In a significant move, the government has introduced the Indira Family Life Insurance Scheme for the first time in the country. Under this scheme, each family will receive an insurance cover of ₹5 lakh. The scheme is expected to benefit nearly 1.15 crore families across the state.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the highest allocations have been made to education reforms and public healthcare. The state is also working towards implementing changes in line with the National Education Policy.
As part of education reforms, the government plans to ensure that students can study from pre-primary to Class 12 in a single government school campus.
On financial transparency, the Chief Minister stated that the government has openly disclosed all details related to debts and revenues. He revealed that since coming to power, the current government has borrowed ₹3.47 lakh crore, of which ₹3.30 lakh crore has been spent on repaying loans and interest incurred by the previous administration.
Efforts are also underway to increase state revenue by plugging leakages in various departments. Additionally, the government is actively working to secure funds due from the Centre.
