KITS Warangal Faculty Awarded Ph.D. by Kakatiya University

Bondala Venu Maheswar Rao, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics Communication and Instrumentation Engineering (ECIE) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal, has been awarded a Ph.D. by Kakatiya University.
In a press note, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said that Dr. Venu Maheswar Rao submitted his doctoral thesis titled “Signal Processing Methods for PPG Signal Enhancement and Analysis.” The research was carried out under his supervision.
The study focused on improving PPG signal quality by developing a motion artifact suppression framework using wavelet transform and adaptive filtering techniques, without the need for additional motion sensors. He also developed machine learning and deep learning models for estimating respiratory rate and blood oxygen levels from PPG signals. In addition, a hybrid deep learning model was designed for obesity forecasting.
His research findings have been published in international journals and presented at conferences.
On the occasion, Chairman of KITS Warangal and former Rajya Sabha MP Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, former MLA and Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, and Ekasila Education Society member Alluri Satyanarayana Raju congratulated him.
Faculty members, including Dean Prof. S. Narasimha Reddy, ECIE Head Dr. M. Raghu Ram, Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary also extended their wishes.
