The second day of the Telangana–North East Connect Techno-Cultural Festival at HITEX turned into a vibrant celebration of art, literature, dialogue, and performance, as large crowds gathered on Friday to witness a rich blend of cultures from Telangana and the North-Eastern states.
Multiple parallel sessions on women’s empowerment, literature, cinema, and performing arts brought together eminent speakers, scholars, writers, and artists. They shared compelling insights on regional identity, creativity, and the role of culture in shaping social progress.

Hon’ble Governor Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, the driving force behind this unique initiative, toured several venues across the festival grounds. Interacting with artists, painters, cultural practitioners, officials, and social activists, he appreciated their artistic expressions and encouraged deeper partnerships between Telangana and the North East. A renowned poet and author himself, the Governor commended the literary contributors and panelists for enriching contemporary cultural discourse.
The day also featured a lively fashion show and an enchanting performance by acclaimed Telugu poet and balladeer Goreti Venkanna, whose soulful renditions of Telangana’s folk heritage captivated the audience.
A session dedicated to women’s empowerment drew special attention, marked by powerful personal experiences and compelling discussions. Delegates from North-Eastern states also visited the Indira Mahila Shakti Bazar (We-Hub), Bharosa Centre, and Prajwala, strengthening cultural and social exchange.
Sports events were conducted at the Pullala Gopichand Badminton Academy and the GMC Balayogi Stadium, where Arjuna and Dronacharya awardees from both regions participated and shared inspiring stories from their athletic careers.
Adding to the festivities, a film festival at Prasad Multiplex showcased notable works from Telangana and the North East, introducing audiences to diverse cinematic voices.
