Chinnala Pavan Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), has been awarded a Ph.D. degree by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), announced Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy in a press release.

Prof. Ashoka Reddy stated that Pavan Kumar completed his doctoral research titled “Low Power Design of Digital Circuits Using Dual-Gate Tunnel FETs.” His research work was carried out under the supervision of Prof. K. Sivani, Head, Department of ECIE, KITSW.
His thesis focused on the study and analysis of Dual Gate Tunnel Field Effect Transistors (TFETs) and their applications. He designed and modelled both homogeneous and heterogeneous DG-TFETs and conducted simulations using different gate oxide materials such as zirconium dioxide and tantalum pentoxide (Ta₂O₅). He has also published 12 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and KITS Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, former MLA and Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, and Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy congratulated him for contributing valuable research in the field of Low Power VLSI, which is of high societal relevance.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof. K. Venumadhav, Head of ECE Dr. V. Venkateshwar Reddy, Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, along with all deans, heads of departments, faculty and staff members, and Associate Professor of Chemistry & PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary also extended their congratulations to him on earning his Ph.D. from JNTUH, Hyderabad.
