Ph.D. Awarded to Kotte Shailaja, ECIE Faculty, KITS Warangal

Kotte Shailaja, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics, Communication and Instrumentation Engineering (ECIE) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), has been awarded a Ph.D. degree by the Koneru Lakshmaiah Educational Foundation (Deemed to be University), Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
Disclosing this in a press note on Wednesday, KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy stated that Kotte Shailaja successfully submitted her doctoral thesis titled “Development of Intelligent Healthcare System using Machine Learning and Deep Learning Approaches for EEG-Based Emotion Detection.” Her research work was carried out under the guidance of Dr. J. R. K. Kumar Dabbakuti, Associate Professor, Department of ECM, KLEF, Guntur.
The research focuses on developing an intelligent healthcare system that uses machine learning and deep learning techniques to analyze EEG signals for accurate emotion detection. The system enables early identification of emotional and mental health conditions, thereby supporting timely medical intervention and improving quality of life, particularly in the areas of neurological disorders and mental health monitoring.
During the course of her research, Dr. Kotte Shailaja published several technical papers and a patent in reputed national and international journals and conferences.
On this occasion, Former Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of KITSW, Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, former MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, Ekasila Education Society Member Alluri Satyanarayana Raju, along with Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, congratulated her and appreciated her contribution towards socially relevant research in the field of AI-based biomedical signal processing.
