KITS Warangal Organises Guest Lecture on AI/ML, IoT and Data Science


Warangal: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) (CSE-AIML) of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), organised a guest lecture on “From Smart Sensing to Smart Living: The Era of AI/ML, IoT and Data Science” at the Civil Seminar Hall on the KITSW campus.
Professor Sajal K. Das, Curators’ Distinguished Professor and Daniel St. Clair Endowed Chair in the Department of Computer Science at Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA, was the guest speaker.
Prof. Sajal K. Das spoke about the use of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT) and Data Science in various fields. He demonstrated projects related to the early detection of dementia and Parkinson’s disease, smart agriculture and other technology-based solutions.
He explained how emerging technologies can be used to address social and practical challenges and improve quality of life. He also discussed current research trends, technological developments and opportunities for collaboration between different academic disciplines.
Prof. T. Kishore Kumar, Dean, International Relations & Alumni Affairs (IRAA), NIT Warangal, who attended the programme as the guest of honour, said the session provided faculty members and students with exposure to recent developments in AI, IoT and Data Science. He encouraged faculty members to make use of academic interactions for research collaboration, higher studies and professional development, particularly in the context of the MoU between KITSW and NIT Warangal.
KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy delivered the presidential remarks. He stressed the need for continuous learning, research collaboration and keeping pace with developments in technology to strengthen academic and research activities.
KITSW Chairman and former Rajya Sabha MP Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer Sri P. Narayana Reddy and former Husnabad MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary Shri Vodithala Satish Kumar congratulated the CSE-AIML department for organising the programme.
Associate Professor and Head of CSE (AI&ML) Dr. Jothi Prabha A., Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. S. Narsimha Reddy, Faculty Coordinators R. Swetha and Dr. Vinay Kumar, Academic Coordinator, and Associate Professor and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary were involved in coordinating the programme.
Student Coordinators A. Ramki, S. Varnik, B. Sai Manoj and T.G. Aniston also contributed to the organisation of the guest lecture.
