Hyderabad, April 18: Regular practice with model question papers can help candidates succeed in Civil Services examinations, said Praveen Kumar, a DSP trainee who secured a rank in the Civil Services Examination 2025 and also cleared the Telangana Group 1 exam.
He said that while preparing for Civil Services, candidates should stay focused on their goal despite difficulties. He explained that the preliminary exam is the first step, and understanding the questions properly is important to choose the correct answer from the given options. He added that along with studying the syllabus, candidates should be able to remember and recall what they have learned at the right time.
Praveen Kumar said that writing model tests regularly improves confidence, subject understanding, and exam strategy. He shared his experiences and preparation methods with candidates.



He was speaking at a session held at the BC Study Circle in Saidabad as part of the “Sankalpa Sadhana Deeksha” programme, started by the Telangana BC Study Circle ahead of the Civil Services preliminary exam scheduled on May 24.
Mental Preparation Important in Exam Hall
BC Study Circle Director Dr. Mamidi Harikrishna said that securing a government job is a goal for many youth in Telangana, and Civil Services are among the top positions. He said the study circle has been providing training and guidance with the help of successful candidates.
He added that exam hall management plays an important role in clearing the preliminary stage. Candidates should stay calm, avoid confusion, and use the three-hour exam time effectively to read and answer questions with confidence.
He said the study circle is providing all necessary facilities, conducting daily model tests, and helping candidates clear their doubts. He added that the aim is to prepare students mentally and academically to succeed in Civil Services exams.
