Minister directs speedy completion of Medaram temple development works

Medaram,Mulugu district, April 19, 2026: Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has asked officials and contractors to speed up the remaining works in the final phase of development at the Sammakka Saralamma Vanadevata temple in Medaram and make the temple complex grand for devotees.

On Sunday, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, along with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka, Bhadrachalam MLA Tellam Venkata Rao, Pinapaka MLA Payam Venkateswarlu, Koram Kanakayya, and Jare Adinarayana visited the Sri Sammakka Saralamma Vanadevata temple in S. Tadwai mandal of Mulugu district.

The ministers and MLAs offered special prayers to the deities and fulfilled their vows.

Later, they held a review meeting with district officials at Medaram Haritha Hotel. The meeting was attended by ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Seethakka, MP Balram Naik, and other MLAs.

District Collector Divakar T.S. briefed the ministers and MLAs in detail about the progress of the development works in the final phase.

During the meeting, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy discussed various points with officials and contractors and gave several instructions.

He directed the officials to complete all the development works with quality standards and at a fast pace so that the temple complex becomes beautiful for devotees.

The minister asked them to finish all major arches as per the master plan quickly. He also instructed officials to prepare proposals for a special main arch for Saralamma near the queue line as requested by the temple priests.

He said stone structures in the temple should be built strongly without any gaps. The flooring in the Gaddelu area should be made even without ups and downs. Railings and drainage in the Gaddelu area should be arranged so that no water stagnates. He asked to start linking the temple drainage system to the main road drainage immediately.

The minister ordered officials to conduct a special drive to clean both sides of the main road and plant trees.

He asked them to prepare proposals for the required staff to provide better services and maintenance for devotees at the temple complex.

He also directed to speed up land acquisition for phase-2 development works under the master plan. He instructed officials to prepare plans for the full development of the Hemachala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Malluru temple as well.

Minister Seethakka said the temple development works should be completed quickly while maintaining high quality standards. She asked to provide all facilities for devotees and create a pleasant atmosphere, especially for those coming from faraway places.

Later, speaking to the media, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said directions were given to officials to complete the remaining final phase works of the Sammakka Saralamma Gaddelu reconstruction with high quality.

He expressed sorrow over the unfortunate accident that happened to a boy from the local priest’s family. He said Minister Seethakka took immediate steps to provide better medical treatment to the boy and the government has borne all the expenses. He added that the government will continue to support the boy and his family in every possible way in the future. The minister said the government is ready to provide an artificial leg using better technology for the boy. He also mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed grief over the incident.

After the meeting, the ministers along with District Collector Divakar T.S. inaugurated the Indiramma house of Indiramma belonging to Aavula Lakshmi and Raju couple in Narlapur village of the mandal.

District Collector Divakar T.S., SP Sudheer Ramnath Khekan, ASP Manan Bhat, DFO Rahul Kishan Jadhav, Additional Collector (Revenue) C.H. Mahender G, Library Chairman Banothu Ravi Chandar, Market Committee Chairman Rega Kalyani, APO Vasanth Rao, RDO Venkatesh, Medaram Sarpanch, public representatives and other officials attended the programme.
