Railways, Telangana Govt Hold Coordination Meeting in Secunderabad

A coordination meeting between South Central Railway and Telangana Government officials was held on Thursday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad to review railway projects in the state.

The meeting was attended by South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava and Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, along with senior officials from both sides. Additional General Manager Satya Prakash, department heads, and Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad and Hyderabad divisions were also present.

This was the first meeting of its kind held at railway premises with the participation of the Chief Secretary and senior state officials. The aim was to improve coordination between the Railways and the State Government.

Railway officials gave a presentation on ongoing and proposed projects, including Road Under Bridges (RUBs), Road Over Bridges (ROBs), new railway lines, station development, and connectivity improvements.

Discussions focused on support needed from the State Government for approvals and execution of RUB and ROB works. The Railways requested cooperation on issues such as No Objection Certificates (NOCs), land acquisition, traffic diversions, and shifting of electric lines and pipelines.

Officials also reviewed new railway line projects and sought state support in land acquisition and cost sharing. Initial discussions were held on a proposed high-speed rail corridor connecting Hyderabad with Bengaluru, Chennai, and Pune. The Regional Ring Rail project was also discussed.

Speaking at the meeting, the General Manager said completion of these projects would benefit the public and support the state’s economic growth. He said faster progress is possible with the State Government’s support.

The Chief Secretary said more such meetings are needed and stressed the importance of coordination between departments. He said better planning and cooperation would help in completing projects and addressing issues.

Both sides agreed to continue working together for timely completion of railway projects in the state.
