Another BRS Senior Leader Prof Sitaram Naik on the Verge of Departure: Is the Party Losing Its Grip?

In a trend that seems to be gathering momentum, discontented senior leaders of the BRS party are bidding farewell one after another, finding solace in other political arenas such as the ruling Congress and BJP parties, especially after the party's loss of power in Telangana state.

Speculations are rife as former MP from Warangal District, Prof A. Sitaram Naik, appears poised to make a move towards the BJP camp, according to political circles.

During his recent visit to Warangal, G. Kishan Reddy, the Tourism and Culture Minister and BJP's Telangana State President, extended an invitation to Prof Sitaram Naik to join the BJP fold, visiting the latter's residence in Hanumakonda.

The dissatisfaction stems from the fact that despite seeking an MP ticket from Mahabubabad Parliamentary Constituency, Prof Sitaram Naik was overlooked by the BRS party, which instead re-nominated the sitting MP, Malothu Kavitha. This comes after Prof Naik's previous stint as MP in the 2014 Elections, with the party denying him the ticket in the subsequent 2019 elections.

His aspirations for an MLA ticket were also dashed by the BRS party, further fueling his frustration and prompting him to explore alternatives. Having been associated with the BRS party for over two decades, Prof Sitaram Naik, a prominent figure in the Telangana Movement, played a significant role in disseminating Telangana ideology, particularly among the students of Kakatiya University where he served as an academician.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with BRS party President KCR and his son, working President KTR, Prof Sitaram Naik found solace in the invitation extended by Central Minister Kishan Reddy to contest from Mahabubabad under the BJP banner.

In response to the invitation, Prof Sitaram Naik stated that he would consult with his followers before making a decision in the coming days. He expressed his gratitude for the BJP's gesture and criticized the BRS top leadership for neglecting him within the party, emphasizing his intention to join a party that values and respects his contributions.
