Warangal, June 21, 2024: The Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW) hosted a grand celebration on the eve of International Yoga Day. Organized by the Department of Physical Education, the event featured a yoga practice session designed to benefit both faculty and students through various yoga asana aimed at holistic health care.


Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, Principal of KITSW, emphasized the importance of yoga in his opening remarks. "Yoga improves strength, balance, and flexibility. It is all about creating balance in our daily lives to protect human health. Through breathing exercises and asanas, yoga offers relief from back pain, eases arthritis symptoms, and enhances heart health. By reducing stress and fostering respect for one’s body, yoga brings peace."


He highlighted yoga as India's gift to the world, presenting it as a comprehensive approach to a fulfilling life.


Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, the Administrative Officer and president of the event, reported an enthusiastic turnout, with over 150 participants from various departments, including faculty and students. They engaged in breathing techniques to enhance lung capacity and promote mental peace. "Yoga is the best way to lead a healthy life, incorporating innovative skills in action," he stated.


The celebration saw congratulatory messages from prominent figures, including former Rajya Sabha MP & KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, KITSW Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and former Husnabad constituency MLA & KITSW Additional Secretary Vodithala Sateesh Kumar. They praised the Department of Physical Education for the event's success.


The program witnessed participation from over 100 students, all the deans, department heads, assistant physical directors Nagaraju and Mahesh, faculty, staff, and student organizers, making it a memorable event.
