Shaik Munawar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), has been awarded Ph.D. degree by the  Annamalai University. 


In a press note here on Thursday, KITSW Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said that Shaik Munawar had submitted his Ph.D. thesis titled “RISK PREDICTION OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISORDERS USING DEEP LEARNING MODELS”.  He did his research work under the combined supervision of *Dr. A. Geetha, Professor,* Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Annamalai University, Chidambaram and *Dr. Konda Srinivas*, Professor and head, CSE(Data Science), CMR Technical Campus, Hyderabad.


Arrhythmia classification is a crucial task in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. The goal is to accurately classify ECG signals into different arrhythmia categories. Automated arrhythmia classification can help reduce the cost of healthcare by eliminating  the need for manual analysis of ECG signals, which can be time-consuming and costly. It reduces the workload of physicians and other healthcare providers, allowing them to focus on other tasks and improving overall efficiency and productivity in the medical field. This remarkable research work is overall, the proposed work has outperformed the existing methods in automated arrhythmia classification. In the journey of research, Shaik Munawar has published sound technical papers in the reputed international journals.


In this regard,  the Rajya Sabha Formet MP and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer, P. Narayana Reddy  & Husnabad constituency Former MLA & KITSW Additional secretary, Vodithala Sateesh Kumar &  the Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy have congratulated him for doing more applicable society needed research in the field of  Image Processing and Machine Learning
