KITS Warangal Students Selected for National Level NASA Space Apps Hackathon



Students from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal, have been selected to participate in the National Level NASA Space Apps Hackathon. The selection was announced during the valedictory ceremony of a 24-hour hackathon held at the Center for Innovation, Incubation, Research, and Entrepreneurship (C-i2RE) at the KITSW campus.



The event, organized jointly by Founders Lab - SUMVN and KITSW, featured 120 students divided into 24 groups. Six of these groups were chosen to advance to the national round of the NASA Space Apps Hackathon, which will take place at Chandigarh University.


During the hackathon, students presented innovative solutions to various challenges related to space exploration. The event began on August 23 at 10 AM and concluded on August 24 at 12 noon. The hackathon aimed to spark creativity, train students in space science, and highlight opportunities in space research.



KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy noted that the program helps prepare students to tackle global challenges in space technology. Presentations covered areas such as web applications, gaming, data science, sensor technology, and robotics.


The event was supported by several key figures including former Rajya Sabha Member and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer  P. Narayana Reddy, and other management members. Dr. Raja Narender Reddy, Head of C-i2RE, and Dr. Raju Reddy, Coordinator of the event, along with representatives from SUMVN and Founders Lab Hyderabad, were also present.


The selected students and their achievements were congratulated and praised by the attendees for their contributions and potential in the field of space science.
