Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed that the review for issuing Telangana Family Digital Cards be effectively undertaken as a pilot project across 119 constituencies at the grassroots level. He suggested that each constituency cover one urban and one rural area. If the constituency is fully urban, two wards/divisions should be selected, and if it is fully rural, two villages should be chosen, totaling 238 locations for field reviews. The Chief Minister advised increasing the number of review teams in areas where there is a larger population in wards or divisions.
Revanth Reddy conducted a review at the state secretariat on Monday regarding the Telangana Family Digital Cards. Officials briefed him about the details of the pilot project and the information to be collected. They informed the CM that the selection of villages and wards/divisions for field surveys in 119 constituencies has been completed. The Chief Minister asked how long the pilot project would last, to which officials responded that it would run for five days, from October 3 to 7.
The Chief Minister also clarified that a family photo should be taken only if all family members agree, and that it should be optional. If the family does not consent, there is no need to take the photo. He emphasized that nodal officers from joint districts should guide collectors on field reviews to ensure the program runs smoothly.
Officials explained that the process of identifying families is already complete based on existing data from ration cards, pensions, self-help groups, Rythu Bandhu, loan waivers, insurance, Aarogyasri, and Kanti Velugu schemes. In the pilot project, they will verify this information and add new members or remove deceased members. The Chief Minister advised taking precautions when registering family member details and making any changes, warning officials to avoid any errors.
He also suggested preparing a report on the positive outcomes and challenges encountered during the pilot project. Based on this report, the final field review will be conducted after addressing any shortcomings. State Ministers Konda Surekha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Chief Minister's Advisor Vem Narendra Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary to the CM Sheshadri, Special Secretaries Chandrasekhar Reddy, Ajit Reddy, and other senior officials participated in the review.
