Inter-Collegiate Tournaments for Men (Phase-I) Conclude at KITS Warangal

The Inter-Collegiate Tournaments for Men (Phase-I), organized by the Department of Physical Education, Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal, concluded today with a presentation ceremony at the Indoor Stadium. 

The event took place from September 29-30, 2024, with participation from over 800 players representing 34 colleges from the combined districts of KU Warangal jurisdiction, including Adilabad, Khammam, and Warangal.

Six games were held during the tournament, including indoor events like Table Tennis, Badminton, and Chess, along with outdoor games such as Football, Basketball, and Volleyball.

Ex-Rajya Sabha Member and KITSW Chairman, Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, and Treasurer P.Narayana Reddy congratulated the winners and runners-up.

The Chief Guest for the event, Hanumakonda District Youth and Sports Officer, G. Ashok, praised the efforts of the organizers and congratulated the participants. He highlighted the role of sports in promoting unity, discipline, and physical well-being and assured support from the Department of Physical Education to encourage active student participation in future events.

Guest of Honour, Prof. Y. Venkaiah, oversaw the distribution of trophies and certificates to the winners. He emphasized the growing passion for sports in the North Telangana region and the commitment of Kakatiya University and KITS Warangal to supporting athletics and fitness.

KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, in his presidential remarks, noted that the tournament provided a platform for talented players to showcase their abilities. He added that KITS Warangal management is dedicated to providing the necessary facilities for the development of young athletes.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including KITSW Administrative Officer and Professor of physical education,  Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, KU college of Physical Education, Principal, Dr ATBT Prasad, organising secretary & Head, department of PE Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy physical directors Venkataswamy, mahesh, Nagaraju, all the physical directors, all the deans, all the Heads, faculty and staff, Associate professor of chemistry & PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary.
