Authorities Warn Against Misleading Drug Advertisements

Hyderabad, March 4, 2025 – The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana has issued a warning against misleading advertisements related to drugs that claim to treat certain diseases and disorders. Officials have reminded the public that such actions are punishable under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.

As part of enforcement efforts, the DCA has seized certain products found to be making misleading claims. Photographs of the confiscated items have been released as evidence of the crackdown.



Authorities have urged citizens to report any suspicious drug manufacturing activities, including the production of narcotic or psychotropic substances in residential, commercial, or industrial areas. Complaints regarding illegal activities related to medicines can be made through the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, via the toll-free number 1800-599-6969, which is operational from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days.

The announcement was made by V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, IPS, Director General, who emphasized the importance of public cooperation in preventing the spread of misleading drug advertisements and ensuring public health safety.
