TGRS Celebrates National Science Day 2025 with STEM Lab Inauguration

Hanamkonda, March 1, 2025: The Telangana Residential School for Girls (TGRS) in Hasanparthy organized National Science Day (NSD-2025) to promote scientific awareness among students. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, Associate Professor of Chemistry at KITS Warangal and JVV Telangana Executive Member, in the presence of Special Guest Dr. Azeezuddin Faizan, State Coordinator of Smile Foundation, and Guest of Honor Dr. P. Srinivas Rao, Assistant Professor of Physics.

As part of the celebrations, a STEM lab worth ₹2 lakh, known as NX Corner, was inaugurated. The lab is equipped with a Smart TV, laptop, inverter, SDG-themed wallpapers, STEM kits, and digital science content. It aims to support students in designing minor projects and interactive science exhibits.



Dr. Chary spoke about the importance of science in daily life and highlighted the theme of NSD-2025, Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat. He emphasized the role of science in eliminating superstitions and fostering innovation. He also discussed recent advancements in digital technology, ion potentiometry, and electrode methods for water testing.

Dr. Azeezuddin Faizan explained that the Smile Foundation, under its Mission Education program, had established the STEM lab at TGRS to enhance students' learning experiences.



TGRS Principal K. Ashoka Reddy noted that over 100 science exhibits were designed and presented by students with the support of teachers. He encouraged students to utilize the NX Corner lab for developing innovative ideas and prototypes.

The event saw active participation from teachers, students, and representatives from the Smile Foundation. More than 150 students showcased their science projects, making the NSD-2025 event a success.
