Drugs Control Administration Raids Medical Distributor and Unlicensed Premises in Telangana

Hyderabad, March 6, 2025 – The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, conducted raids on two locations, seizing improperly stored medicines and illegally stocked drugs.

In Hyderabad, officials raided Sri Nandini Pharma in Sultan Bazar and confiscated stocks of Tetanus Vaccine and Oxytocin Injections found stored at room temperature instead of the required 2°C to 8°C. Improper storage can degrade these temperature-sensitive medicines, reducing their potency and effectiveness. The raid, led by Assistant Director T. Rajamouli and Drugs Inspector V. Ajay, resulted in the seizure of medicines worth ₹10,000. Further investigation is underway, and legal action will be taken.



In a separate operation, officials raided an unlicensed premises at Mahima Clinic, Hanumakonda, where a large stock of medicines was illegally stored for sale. The seized items included expired drugs, habit-forming substances, vaccines, antibiotics, and steroids, worth approximately ₹80,000. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Dr. G. Rajyalakshmi, Assistant Director, Warangal. Legal proceedings will be initiated against those involved.


Authorities have urged wholesalers and dealers to ensure that medicines are supplied only to licensed entities. Selling drugs without a valid license is a punishable offense under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, carrying a sentence of up to five years in prison.
