Dumpeti Naveen Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), has been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree by Osmania University, Hyderabad. This was announced by the Principal of KITS Warangal, Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, in a press note released on Wednesday.
According to the Principal, Mr. Naveen Kumar submitted his Ph.D. thesis titled “Private Blockchain Framework for Educational Certificate Management and Fraud Prevention.” He carried out his research under the guidance of Dr. K. Radhika, Professor and Head, Department of AI & DS, CBIT, affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad.
His doctoral research focused on the design and development of a hybrid permissioned blockchain framework using Hyperledger Fabric for secure issuance, storage, and verification of educational certificates. The proposed system integrates advanced technologies such as Blockchain, IoT-enabled biometric authentication, QR-code–based verification, digital signatures, and CouchDB to prevent certificate forgery, ensure data integrity, and facilitate instant verification by employers and educational institutions.
The research addressed major limitations of traditional centralized certificate management systems, including data tampering, single points of failure, delayed verification processes, and lack of transparency. Performance evaluation conducted using Apache JMeter demonstrated that the proposed framework achieved high throughput, low error rates, and efficient memory utilization, outperforming existing certificate verification models.
During the course of his research, Naveen Kumar published several research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences, making significant contributions to the fields of Blockchain Technology and Cyber Security.

Narayana Reddy, Former MLA and Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, and Ekasila Education Society Member Alluri Satyanarayana Raju, along with Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, congratulated Mr. Naveen Kumar for undertaking socially relevant and application-oriented research.
