KITS Warangal Holds Valedictory Ceremony for Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary Celebrations
Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science Warangal (KITSW) organized the valedictory ceremony of “Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Day Celebrations” at the New Seminar Hall on its campus. The programme was conducted by the Literary & Extramural Club under the Student Activity Center (SAC).
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Sri Sowmithri Lakshmana Charya. The celebrations were sponsored by proud alumni of KITSW — K. Chandrasekhar Reddy, Mr. G. Venkat Reddy, K. Ram Reddy, AKSSV Ramana and Mr. I. Ganesh Sai.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of KITSW, Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer Sri P. Narayana Reddy, and Former MLA of Husnabad Constituency and Additional Secretary of KITSW, Vodithala Sateesh Kumar, conveyed their appreciation to the SVBC Club, Literary Club and SAC team for successfully organizing the event. They stated that such programmes help students enhance their skills and develop self-motivation, which is key to success.


Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Sri Sowmithri Lakshmana Charya said that one’s way of life is more important than religion. He noted that the life lessons of Swami Vivekananda remain highly relevant for the development of youth. He emphasized qualities such as self-belief, spiritual knowledge, self-discipline and patriotism as essential traits for students. He urged the youth to focus on character building and skill development for the progress of the nation.
In his presidential address, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said that Swami Vivekananda’s ideology is vital for today’s society, especially for young minds. He highlighted Swamiji’s focus on youth empowerment and positive thinking. Quoting Vivekananda’s message, he said, “Take up an idea, dream of it, think of it and achieve it. That is the way to success.”
Dean of Student Affairs Prof. K. Sridhar stated that such platforms help students overcome fear of public speaking and build self-confidence. She added that these activities contribute to personal growth and leadership development.
Founder of Viveka Bharathi Society, Vishnu Chaithanya, Head of C-i2RE Dr. K. Raja Narender Reddy, faculty coordinators Dr. D. Vidyanath and Dr. Grace Shanthi, Associate Professor of Chemistry and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, deans, heads of departments, and student representatives including Literary Club President Sri Teja Paka and Vice President M. Shouryan actively participated in organizing the programme. The Photography and Media Club covered the event. Faculty members, staff and over 250 students attended the ceremony.
