KITS Warangal MBA Signs MoU with ISTD Hyderabad, Organises Two Symposia on AI and Workforce Skills
Warangal, March 13:
The Department of MBA at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), Hyderabad, at the Silver Jubilee Seminar Hall on the KITS Warangal campus. The information was shared by KITS principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy.
On the same occasion, the MBA department organised two symposia focusing on emerging professional skills and leadership in the era of artificial intelligence. The sessions were titled “Leadership in the Era of AI” by Dr. Sailaja, Director (HR), Kaarya Solutions, and “Skills Needed for the New Age Workforce” by Vivek Vardhan, Regional Director (Coastal South), Anand Rathi.
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. K. Srinivas Rao, Chairman of ISTD Hyderabad, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Speaking on the occasion, he said the MoU aims to strengthen training initiatives for both faculty members and student leaders. He explained that ISTD is a non-profit organisation headquartered in New Delhi with 58 chapters across India that conduct training and development programmes.
Dr. Srinivas Rao said the collaboration would help improve students’ employability by equipping them with management and AI-related skills. He stressed that MBA graduates should develop five key skill clusters: critical thinking and problem solving, emotional intelligence and collaboration, digital fluency and AI literacy, adaptability and learning agility, and communication with executive presence.
Guest speaker Dr. Sailaja explained that artificial intelligence acts as a “personal assistant” in modern academic and professional environments. She said AI can analyse large volumes of data, generate reports, and support decision-making in areas such as people management, ethical judgement, and strategy. She encouraged students to become “T-shaped learners” and emphasised that books remain an important tool for developing leadership qualities. She concluded with the message, “Don’t just watch the wave — ride it.”
KITS Warangal principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy thanked ISTD Hyderabad for partnering with the institution and formally inaugurated the KITS–ISTD Student Development Forum on the campus.
Among those present at the programme were Prathibha K from HRD, Anand Rathi Shares and Stock Brokers, Sri Madhan Mohan, Director of Ogni Esco, Head of the MBA Department Dr. P. Surender, Prof. V. Ramaiah, ISTD faculty member and Associate Professor of Chemistry and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, along with deans, heads of departments, MBA faculty members including Dr. G. Rathnakar, and around 120 MBA students who actively participated in the event.
