Warangal, March 25, 2026:
A Mega Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized by the NSS Club of the Student Activity Centre (SAC) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), in association with the Lions Club Warangal, at the institute’s auditorium on Wednesday.
A total of 587 units of blood were collected during the camp and donated to the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Hanumakonda, showcasing the strong spirit of social responsibility among KITSW students and staff.
The camp was conducted in memory of Smt. Sri Sulochana, wife of late Dr. V. Vishwanath Rao. Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy stated that such initiatives reflect the institute’s commitment to community service.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and former Husnabad MLA and Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar lauded the efforts of students, faculty, and SAC members for their enthusiastic participation.
Chief Guest Ln. K. Venkata Reddy, former Governor of Lions Club Warangal, emphasized that any healthy individual can donate 250–300 ml of blood and described blood donation as one of the most fulfilling forms of service. He highlighted that such activities not only save lives but also enhance students’ dynamism, critical thinking, and creativity.
Guest of Honour Prof. Esam Narayana, NSS Coordinator of Kakatiya University, stressed that donating blood takes only a few minutes but can give someone a lifetime. He praised KITSW students for prioritizing social service and public safety.
In his presidential address, Principal Prof. Ashoka Reddy noted that the KITSW NSS unit has received the Highest Blood Donor Motivator Award from the Governor of Telangana for two consecutive years.
The event witnessed participation from Lions Club members, NSS coordinators, faculty, medical teams, and over 1,000 students, making it a grand success
