KITS Warangal Organizes AICTE-ATAL FDP on AI-Driven Cybersecurity


Warangal, Aug 18:
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Networks) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), has launched a one-week AICTE-ATAL Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI-Driven Cybersecurity: Defense Strategies for the Digital Era”. The program is being held from August 18–23, 2025 at the KITS Warangal campus.
The inaugural ceremony was held on Monday in the presence of KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, who formally launched the FDP poster. He was joined by Dean R&D, Dr. M. Veera Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy stressed the need for continuous upskilling in teaching and research. He highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence in strengthening proactive cyber defense mechanisms, training faculty in AI/ML tools for threat detection, prevention, and response, and encouraging innovation in AI-based cybersecurity aligned with national strategies.
The FDP aims to equip faculty with advanced methodologies to integrate AI-driven models for intrusion and malware detection into their teaching and research.
Head of the CSN Department, Dr. V. Shankar, noted that this initiative would help students excel in competitive exams, industry certifications, and practical programming challenges. The improved teaching methods, he said, would contribute significantly to students’ academic and professional success.
The event was coordinated by Dr. S. Venkatramulu (Associate Professor, CSN) and Mr. D. Ramesh (Assistant Professor, CSN). Faculty members, deans, and department heads including Dr. V. Chandra Shakar Rao (CSN), Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary (Chemistry & PRO), and others attended the ceremony.
KITSW Chairman and former Rajya Sabha MP Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, congratulated the CSN department and its coordinators for successfully hosting the inaugural program.
