New Delhi, July 2, 2024:Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging a parliamentary debate on the NEET examination issues. This comes after the Opposition's request for a discussion on June 28 was denied in both Houses of Parliament.

In his letter, Gandhi highlighted the distress of nearly 24 lakh NEET aspirants and their families, emphasizing the recent paper leak as a significant betrayal. He mentioned that over the past seven years, more than 70 such incidents have affected over 2 crore students, revealing deep-seated problems in India's higher education system.

Gandhi criticized the government for postponing other exams and replacing the Director General of the National Testing Agency, calling it a cover-up for the failing centralized testing system. He stressed the need for immediate action and transparency to rebuild trust among students and their families.

The letter concluded with a plea for an urgent debate in Parliament, urging PM Modi to lead the discussion for the sake of the students' future.
