ACB registers disproportionate assets case against suspended Tahsildar Sucharita; assets worth ₹5.05 crore detected
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against suspended Tahsildar and Joint Sub-Registrar Thummakomma Sucharita, who served in Shamirpet Mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
According to an ACB press note, the case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act after officials found that the assets allegedly acquired by Sucharita were disproportionate to her known sources of income.
Searches were conducted at her residence and three other locations linked to her relatives, associates and suspected benamis. During the searches, the ACB identified agricultural land measuring 2 acres and 17 guntas in Damarakunta village of Siddipet district, three flats in Hyderabad and two plots located in Keesara and Khanamet villages.
Officials also recovered approximately ₹12 lakh in cash, two cars—a Volkswagen and a Hyundai Creta—gold and diamond ornaments valued at around ₹1.20 crore, and bank balances of about ₹38 lakh.
The ACB stated that the total value of the assets detected during the searches is ₹5,05,52,465. It added that the market value of the immovable properties is expected to be much higher than their registered value.
The bureau said verification of additional assets is in progress and the investigation is continuing.
According to the ACB, Sucharita had already been arrested in an earlier bribery case after allegedly demanding ₹30 lakh and accepting ₹2 lakh as part payment on May 26, 2026. She was produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases and is currently in judicial custody.
