KITS Warangal hosts national cultural fest “SANSKRITI’26”

The inaugural ceremony of the national-level student cultural carnival “SANSKRITI’26” was held on Thursday at the auditorium of Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal. The event is being organised by the Music, Dance and Fine Arts (MDF) Club of the Student Activity Centre (SAC).
KITS Warangal Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said the cultural festival will be conducted for two days, from March 6 to March 7, 2026. The programme was inaugurated by music director and singer Prashanth R Vihari, an alumnus of KITS Warangal, by lighting the lamp.
Speaking at the event, Prashanth R Vihari said cultural activities help students bring out their hidden talents. He advised students to participate in cultural and co-curricular programmes along with their academics. He also said that interest and participation in activities are important for personal development.
He added that KITS Warangal provides a good environment and facilities for students. Referring to his own journey as a former student of the institute, he said he achieved his goals with the support available on the campus. He also encouraged students to use technology wisely and avoid unnecessary distractions on social media.
Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said the event witnessed active participation from students. He said the festival gives students an opportunity to experience different cultures, traditions and activities.
As part of the two-day programme, the first day features Indo-Western Day, followed by a fashion show titled Elegantica and a DJ performance by Pradeep. On the second day, there will be Traditional Beats and a pro show by singer E. Manisha.
More than 20 spot events including live painting, singing, drama, photo booth, face painting and confessions were organised for students.
Former Husnabad MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, who presided over the programme, said the cultural fest aims to provide recreation and also develop leadership and management skills among students. He advised students to develop hobbies such as listening to music, reading books, learning Telugu literature and watching historical films.
Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, governing body member E. Venkatram Reddy, and other management members appreciated the organising team.
Dean of Student Affairs and Chairperson of Sanskriti’26 Prof. K. Sridhar, MDF club conveners Dr. P.S.S. Murthy and Dr. T. Shirisha, PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, and several faculty members attended the event.
Student representatives including N. Samhitha, P. Srilasya, G. Sai Sumanth, K. Sai Dhanush Reddy, Sai Sathvik, and Vaishnavi also took part in organising the programme.
More than 4,000 students from different parts of India participated in the event.
