Warangal, March 8:
The valedictory ceremony of the national-level student cultural carnival “SANSKRITI’26” was held at the playfields of the Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science Warangal campus on Saturday.
The two-day cultural festival was organised by the Music, Dance and Fine Arts (MDF) Club under the Student Activity Centre (SAC). The event was conducted on March 6 and 7 with participation from students across different parts of India.
Speaking on the occasion, KITS Warangal Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said the cultural carnival aimed to promote the overall development of students along with academics. He stated that such events provide opportunities for students to explore creativity and learn about cultural values and traditions.
During the two-day event, several cultural and creative activities were organised. These included traditional beats, street art fair, live photography contest, guessing games, selfie contest, hook step challenge, photo booth activities, fashion shows, folk dance, Kuchipudi performances, student performances and a DJ show.
Prof. Ashoka Reddy said that cultural activities help students develop discipline, leadership qualities and innovative thinking. He added that such festivals also encourage teamwork and responsibility among students.
Chairperson of Sanskriti’26 and Dean of Student Affairs Prof. K. Sridhar said the festival gave students an opportunity to experience different traditions, cuisines and lifestyles. He said the main objective of the fest was to provide recreation and happiness while helping students develop organisational and leadership skills.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of KITS Warangal Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, management members, and former Husnabad MLA and Additional Secretary of the institute Vodithala Satish Kumar congratulated the organising team.
The programme was attended by Prof. K. Sridhar, MDF club conveners Dr. P. S. S. Murthy and Dr. T. Shirisha, deans, department heads, PRO and Associate Professor of Chemistry Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, MDF club president N. Samhitha, vice president P. Srilasya, and student representatives of Sanskriti’26.
Members of the DISCO club, SAC members and student volunteers also participated in organising the event. More than 4,000 students from across India took part in the cultural carnival.
